TOMPKINSVILLE, N.Y. (WPIX)—
The Cromwell Center in Tompkinsville
collapsed into the harbor Monday afternoon.
Emergency officials from the NYPD
and Coast Guard rushed to scene, which occurred around 2:15 p.m.
According to reports, a pylon at the front of the building on Pier 6 collapsed, sending the front corner of the building plunging into the water.
The institution reportedly closed for repairs on a new roof, new support piling and structural repairs to stabilize the second floor, which has been close for the past couple of years.
No injuries were reported.
