NEW YORK - New York City police are investigating the death of a Bronx taxi dispatcher who was found shot to death outside of his apartment building on Decatur Avenue near East 207th Street.
Michael Lorge, 42, was apparently on his way to work Saturday morning when he was murdered. Police say a mystery gunman fired two shots right into the back of Lorge's head as he was getting into his car around 6 a.m. He was reportedly found with his wallet and jewelry, so police have so far ruled out robbery as a motive.
Norwood section of the Bronx, according to the NY Post.
Lorge was scheduled to go to Housing Court this week. When Lorge's landlord was told about the fatal killing, he reportedly said, "I don't know anything about it. I know nothing about a murder."
Family and friends are shocked over their sudden loss.
"He's not involved in drugs or loansharks or anything,"Kevin Gulvin told the NY Daily News. "He never put up a fight."
