Everything from cooking to bathroom trips are recorded on Twitter, now public humiliation can be added to the list. A 22-year-old model used Twitter to openly turn down a married soap actor’s attempts to talk her up on a plane.
Melissa Stetten, a New York-based model, live-tweeted an exchange yesterday with Brian Presley, a 34-year-old soap actor from Oklahoma. Presley began by telling her that he believed they were 'brought together' on the flight, by God.
In Stetten’s tweets, her over 22,000 Twitter followers learned that, “Apparently Brian is a straightforward guy from Oklahoma who booked a McDonalds commercial when he was 19 and then God took over from there.”
Presley landed the role of Jack Ramsey in 1999 on the soap opera Port Charles. He portrayed Jack from 1999 until Port Charles’ cancellation in 2003. On this show was where he met his co-star and wife Erin Hershey Presley. The smooth talker also bragged about a role in the April 2012 movie Touchback.
However, Presley denied his marriage to the model.
Stentten posted: 'Brian said he was engaged to another actress but it didn't work out because they didn't mesh well together.'
Soon enough, Miss Stetten's followers, began tweeting actual facts about the actor, his marriage and his two children.
The model posted at a later stage of the commentary: “He said he was engaged for 6 months but broke it off! RT @Pat_Healy: @MelissaStetten Ask him how his wife Erin and son Jackson are.”
In one tweet, the young model soon acknowledges the damage done from her commentary and tweets: “Did I just ruin Brian Presley's life via twitter?”
The model later posted a photo on Twitter of Presley sleeping in the plane seat next to her.
Brian Presley has yet to respond and his last tweet seems outdated but seems to follow the persona Stetten represented, on May 22, Presley tweeted: “@JoelOsteen has changed my life! God wants to do amazing things with our life! Choosing Gods way isn't always the easy way!”
All of Stetten’s tweets are as follows:
'No thanks, Brian, the actor sitting next to me on this flight talking about his role with Kurt Russell and his spiritual beliefs'
'Brian is now talking about how he is an artist and believes everything happens for a reason, like how we're brought together on this flight'
'Apparently Brian is a straightforward guy from Oklahoma who booked a McDonalds commercial when he was 19 and then God took over from there'
'Brian hates closed minded people but loves artists in the industry, and just called this one-sided conversation a "collabo" between us'
'Oh wow, Brian grew up on a ranch with uber conservative parents but his stance on gay marriage is ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz....'
'Brian just said "like us sitting here right now, talking about where we're from, it's like divine interception." right, interception'
'Brian asked what I do for a living. I said model. He said "oh I love meeting other artists like myself"
'Brian just finished working on a movie with Matthew McConaughey who inspired his "craft" immensely being a small town boy like himself'
