GARDEN CITY, NY (WPIX)—After watching a cold-blooded request caught on hidden camera, jurors found Susan Williams guilty of conspiracy to kill her husband.
The decision came down Monday after jurors watched footage of Williams heartlessly explaining her wishes to a man she believed would carry out the hit on her husband, Peter Williams.
"I don't want this to be a made-for-TV movie. I want it as simple as possible. If I could do it myself I would," Williams said. "I want him more than hurt, I don't want to say it."
Unfortunately the man talking with her was actually an undercover police officer recording every word.
As if trying to justify her husband's murder, she continued, telling the officer, "It's a nightmare, he's scum. Cops come to my door, that's what I'll think about."
According to prosecutors, however, that wasn't the only reason Williams wanted him dead. There was also the anger from a pending divorce and the allure of a million dollar life insurance policy taken out on her husband.
Police arrested Williams once already in March for conspiring to kill her husband.
Williams faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
