UPPER EAST SIDE, N.Y. (WPIX)—Proud parents Beyonce and Jay-Z may be enjoying time with their new baby girl, but one Brooklyn dad says their special hospital treatment has caused problems when trying to visit his newborn twins.
Neil Coulon, 38, a contractor from Bedford-Stuyvesant, says the power couple's bodyguards have repeatedly barred him from the sixth-floor neonatal intensive care unit at Lenox Hill Hospital. He adds they even cleared the waiting room, kicking out his relatives.
Coulon's wife delivered two premature and underweight girls. Beyonce gave birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, on Saturday.
According to Lenox Hill employees, Beyonce and Jay-Z paid $1.3 million to seal off and redecorate a wing of the hospital.
The Brooklyn dad says he's not the only person upset by the velvet rope treatment in the hospital and all he's looking for now is an apology.
Hospital spokesperson Anne Silverman said she had not personally heard of the complaints.
Meanwhile, the congratulations from celebrity pals and relatives about the birth of baby Blue Ivy Carter continue to flood Twitter.
"The most beautiful girl in the world," Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, tweeted.
Rihanna gave her well wishes, tweeting, "Welcome to the world Princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih."
Sean Diddy Combs added, "Congrats to Jay and B! God bless. And many more."
As for the baby's unusual name, a popular theory is that Blue was chosen to signify producer Jay-Z's Blueprint Albums. Some believe Ivy was chosen because it represents the roman numeral four, (IV) which is Beyonce's favorite number. Beyonce's birthday is September 4th while her mother's is January 4th.
