Academy Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Jennifer Hudson is helping Weight Watchers kick off its 3rd Annual Walk-It Challenge to encourage the importance of physical activity and its impact on overall health.

Walking was one of the first steps Hudson took to achieve a healthier lifestyle. She wanted to be a better role model for her son and walking was a natural and easy way for her to get active. Now, Hudson is encouraging everyone to start walking by supporting the Weight Watchers Walk-It Challenge.

This year`s challenge highlights a donation of $100,000 to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to help support the organization`s work to reverse the trend of childhood obesity in America.

Hudson was live from Namaste Charter School in Chicago, a nationally recognized elementary school known for its unique mission to use physical fitness and nutrition as avenues to reach higher student achievement.
