Nassau police Tuesday arrested a suspect and charged him with attempted assault after he fired six shots at a man on a Uniondale street Tuesday evening.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, was not hit by the gunfire. He had been
walking on the 800 block of Uniondale Avenue at around 5:45 p.m. when
he saw a maroon van following him, then saw a man get out of the van,
point a weapon and open fire, police said.
The victim called the police and a report was sent out to patrol units
to be alert for the van. A short time later, three First Precinct
police officers saw and stopped the vehicle, police said.

charged with attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon and
The driver of the car, Simone Foss, 20, of 32 E. Davis St., Roosevelt, was charged with criminal facilitation.
Both face arraignment at First District Court, Hempstead.
