CROWN HEIGHTS, N.Y (WPIX) -- More details are emerging in the death of a young boy who plunged from the top of a 13-story apartment building in Crown Heights Tuesday night.
According to police, Domori Miles, 9, made his way to the top of the apartment building on Bergen St. with a parachute made of plastic and some string around 7 p.m. Domori's mother, who is completely devastated over the incident, reportedly told cops she left her son unattended inside their Brooklyn apartment in order to make a quick trip to the store.
Jeff Hardy, featured in PS2's Smackdown vs. Raw, when he dove off the roof, plunging 13-stories, relatives told the New York Post.
Domori was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center where he died an hour later.
Police continued to comb the top of the building Wednesday looking for more clues. Surveillance cameras inside the building managed to catch a glimpse of the boy as he made his way to the roof, cops say.
Jeffrey Banks, 40, who lives inside the building, told the New York Daily News he saw the child fly by his window as he sat inside his apartment with his wife.
"I can't get over this," Bans said. "It is unbelievable."
