CHICAGO—Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL announced this season's lineup Thursday, including more than 100 events between June 7th- Sept. 9th, 2012.
Get ready to pack your picnic basket because this summer the Ravinia Festival offers something for everyone with its Rock, R&B, jazz, country, singer/songwriters and bluegrass artists.
Al Green, Seal, Santana, Iron & Wine, Gavin DeGraw, Sarah McLachlan, Glen Campbell, Jake Shimabukuro, Natalie Merchant, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Roger Hodgson, Reginald Robinson, Jimmy Cliff and more.
Returning artists include: James Taylor, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, Train, Diana Krall, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ramsey Lewis, Sergio Mendes, Arlo Guthrie and more.
Ravinia Festival features three stages: The Pavilion, The Martin Theatre and the Bennett Gordon Hall with available public transportation and many dining opportunities under the stars.
Legendary artist Glen Campbell is performing at the Ravinia with pianist Ronnie Milsap on June 28. Campbell is suffering from Alzheimer’s and this performance is a part of his “good-bye tour.”
The Chicago-formed R&B band “Earth, Wind & Fire” will be returning to Ravinia with an orchestra on June 9th as a part of their “Guiding Lights Tour.” Soul singer Al Green will be performing at the festival June 15th together with the Chicago Children Choir.
Gavin DeGraw makes his debut together with singer/guitarist Colbie Caillat on June 29th. Grammy-winner sing/songwriter Sarah McLachlan will perform together with an orchestra on June 30th and soul and R&B singer Seal makes his first Ravinia performance on July 22nd.
