CHICAGO—Nurses angry at Mayor Emanuel for pulling their permit to march before the NATO summit made their voices heard at City Hall Wednesday.
National Nurses United held an emergency press conference.
Grant Park. City leaders say they're concerned the march will draw huge crowds, now that the organization added musician Tom Morello to its lineup. Morello played guitar for "Rage Against the Machine."
National Nurses United says its march is meant to send a message to the G8 countries. The G8 summit was originally going to be held in Chicago, but the venue was changed to Camp David in Maryland.
"It pulls nurses out of the public eye. We think when nurses stand together from around the world with a strong message that is an alternative to the G8 message about needing to have social service cuts, we say there is another solution and that is to tax Wall Street.
