Black Friday Shopping Tips:

Plan
Go online as soon as possible to search for stores whose Black Friday ads have already leaked.

Strategize
Some major stores are opening at midnight, but some are opening later such as 5 a.m.; determine which products you absolutely want and start there. At Harlem Irving Plaza they have four big retailers all in one location that are opening at midnight: Best Buy, Target, Kohl's and Carson's. See how you can get to the most stores in the least amount of time. Then make your plans for stores that will open later.

Be prepared
Are you shopping with others? Be sure you have cell phones or walkie talkies to stay in touch. Will you be waiting in line outdoors? Bring a chair, blanket(s), drinks and snacks and something to keep you occupied. Depending on what time you plan to get in line Thanksgiving night before stores open is what will determine how much gear you need to bring to stay comfortable.

Plan again, this time what you'll wear
Black Friday shopping can be an endurance contest. Be sure you wear comfortable shoes (this is not the time to break in new ones). Dress in layers so that you can be warm while outside but take off layers as you heat up inside the stores.

Consider how else you'll carry around all of your purchases that may include a big screen TV

Traveling in pairs?
Have one person shop while the other takes packages to the car, and take turns doing so. If you have a baby stroller bring it, but leave the baby at home. These make convenient product carriers for smaller items.

Have fun.
Though you may miss out on certain doorbusters, there will be many deals and bargains to be had at retailers throughout this holiday shopping season.
