The long awaited beginning of the end of the Twlight series begins today.
"Breaking dawn: Part one" sees the marriage of the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) with mortal Bella (Kristen Stewart) while the werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is not happy about it all.
There's the wedding, the honeymoon, but also see the creepy special effects transformation on the new bride when the pre-natal vampire baby seems to be feeding on it's mortal mother.
Meanwhile, a war is about to break out between vampire and werewolf factions just as the film abruptly ends, baiting you for part two.
It's frusturating. Every movie should stand on it's own, but you knew what it was going in and the same applies to my review.
Fellow critics, this is not "Citizen Kane". I don't hold it to the same standard.
It's a good enough story, with good enough acting.
Not perfect overall, but perfectly fine for the fans who will go.
