The parents of a Chicago Public School student are accusing his son’s principal of physically harming his son.

Andrea and Kenneth Elmore of Rogers Park, say their son and two other children were called into the principal’s office at Joyce Kilmer Elementary just before noon Wednesday.

Kenneth Elmore said his son was physically roughed up by the principal, and his tooth became loose during the alleged assault.

The Chicago Police Department has not confirmed an investigation, but Chicago Public Schools issued the following statement:

“CPS took immediate steps to remove the principal after being informed of this incident pending the outcome of a police and an internal investigation.”

Kenneth Elmore, Jr. returned to school this morning. The 4th grader said, "I don't feel nervous to come back to school today, because the principal's not here."

The principal has been at Kilmer for just a few months.
