One of the most consistent placekickers in Saints history is back.

45 year old John Carney was resigned by the Saints Saturday afternoon. He kicked for the Saints from 2001-2006. In 2006, Carney converted 22 of 25 field goals. But, he was cut in favor of Olindo Mare.

Garrett Hartley, the incumbent, has strugged in camp, and missed a 20 yarder wide left in the first quarter of Friday night's 17-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
