Time to fill those summer bags with the latest and greatest in summer beauty must-haves! Today is the start of our summer beauty product series, and we've got almost 2 dozens products and gadgets to share with you over the next few weeks! Here's the list of the summer products/gadgets from tonight's story:
The New Clarisonic Plus Sonic Skin Cleansing System: The dermatologist-favorite Clarisonic has unveiled its new and improved version of the device, which includes advanced power, and some more user-friendly options, as well as a new, larger brush for the body. The device comes with 3 facial cleansers, as well as a great body scrub that can be used with it. Our makeup artists love it for the summer because they say it's great to use as an exfoliator before self tanning to remove the dead skin cells and get an overall better, smoother, streak-free self tan. The new Clarisonic also comes with its popular facial brush that Dermatologist Dr. Sarah Jackson says is great to remove dirt and oil, reduce fine lines and pores, and exfoliate dead skin cells. She says Clarisonic is great for even sensitive and acne-prone skin. Clarisonic Plus retails for $225 at Sephora, Clarisonic.com, and at some local boutiques like MakeMe Up on Magazine Street.
Jergens has a new line of great Natural Glow daily moisturizers that produce a nice, natural looking color. Our favorite, and the favorite of our 2 makeup artists, is the new Jergens natural glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer that is, as promised, ODOR FREE!!! Yes, say good-bye to that horrible self tanner smell. We just had to ask though ... why isn't everyone doing this??? The clear foam dries in just seconds, and is available for Medium and Medium to Tan skin tones. The product retails for $8.99 and can be found at most drugstores.
Another self tanner we liked is the new Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray for $11.99. It sprays on and dries within a few minutes, and is available in medium and deep shades. The new formula is oil-free and non-comedogenic, and is easy to use on those sometimes hard to reach places like the back.
This product was a really exciting find: the nail polish Kate Middleton wore for her Royal Wedding! And get this, she chose a drugstore polish that retails for just $8! The light ivory shade is made by Essie, and the color Kate chose was called Allure. The polish can be purchased at drugstores, and the line carries a lot of other great shades as well!
A great summer must-have created by Louisiana native Kevyn Aucoin is his celebrity favorite sculpting powder. This is not a new product, but a lot of people outside of the beauty industry still don't know about this amazing product! It's not a bronzer, but rather a sculpting powder that can help create high cheekbones, reshape the nose and help it look smaller, and it's great to use around the jaw line and to help conceal a double chin. Makeup Artists Celeste Louapre says she even uses it to create the illusion of cleavage and abs! This is a product you may want to get a makeup artist to demonstrate for you before you buy. We purchased our sculpting powder at Makeme Up, where the makeup artist showed us how to best maximize the sculpting benefits of this great powder! It is a beauty splurge though at $42, but it does lasts a long time (remember, a little goes a long way). We also liked it as an eye shadow base, and your regular blush also works great over the sculpting powder to finish off your new high cheekbones!
This is just the first of our series, so make sure to watch the entire month of May for more great finds to fill your summer beauty bag! We've got some great primers, hair products, under eye concealers, vein erasers, and the list goes on! The best part -- most of them are incredible bargain finds that won't break your summer bank account!
Thanks for watching, and as always, email me at email@example.com if you have any questions or comments.
