Chris Paul scored 16 points and handed out 15 assists as the Hornets beat the TImberwolves Friday night, 98-89.

It was the first game for Paul in exactly three weeks after suffering a severely sprained ankle in a home game against Portland.

The Hornets trailed by two at the half, but then outscored Minnesota 28-16 in the third quarter.

Devin Brown led the Hornets with 19 points. Emeka Okafor and David West scored 17 each for the Hornets.

New Orleans will host Sacramento Tuesday night.
