NEW ORLEANS—Ross Krautman kicked a 21 yard field goal as time expired to give Syracuse a 37-34 win over Tulane Saturday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Green Wave fell despite the efforts of Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin, who completed 24 of 30 passes for 320 yards. Griffin's 58 yard touchdown pass to Xavier Rush tied the score at 34 with just under three minutes to play.
Rush caught a 60 yard pass from Griffin and Cairo Santos booted a 42 yard field goal to cut the Syracuse lead to 31-24 at the half.
Syracuse's winning field goal drive was kept alive by a 15 yard roughing penalty on Dezman Moses on third and four at the Syracuse 36.
Tulane hosts UTEP Saturday at 2:30. The game will be televised live by Fox Sports Net.
