Tulane head coach Ed Conroy has secured the talents of one of the metro areas best.

Riverside Academy 6-3 guard Lou Dabney, flanked by his parents, signed with the Green Wave at the school in Reserve Wednesday. Dabney averaged 18 points a game on a team that won its second straight 2A state title in March.

Dabney is one Tulane's best local recruits in a decade.

"He's a big sized guard, 6-3, long arms big body, and that makes a difficult matchup for a lot of people," said Riverside head coach Timmy Byrd. "Lou is ready to play. They are getting in my opinion a top SEC, top big 12, top Big East caliber type player, so I think he is really going to help Tulane."

Riverside is ranked #12 in the USA Today Boys basketball poll.
