CRISPY PARMESAN TURNIP FRIES - adapted from www.allrecipes.com
1 pound turnips Olive oil spritzer ? cup grated parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon garlic salt 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon onion powder
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil and lightly grease.
Peel the turnips and cut into French fry-sized sticks, about 1/3 by 4 inches. Place into a large bowl, and spray with olive oil to coat. Place the Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, paprika, onion powder in a resealable plastic bag, and shake to mix. Place the oiled turnips into the bag, and shake until evenly coated with the spices. Spread out onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven until the outside is crispy, and the inside is tender, about 20 minutes. Serve immediately. Serves four.

ROSEMARY RUTABAGA "FRIES" ? from www.saveur.com
Ingredients ? 1 rutabaga, about a pound and a half ? 1 teaspoon olive oil ? 4 sprigs fresh rosemary, minced ? 3 cloves garlic, minced ? Salt, to taste
Preheat oven to 400?. Peel the rutabaga and cut it in 1/2" x 1'2" spears. Steam about 12 minutes in a steamer basket until just tender. Dry the spears with paper towels and then toss with the olive oil, the garlic and the rosemary. Lay the rutabaga spears out in a single layer (ideally with none of the spears touching each other) on a jelly roll pan and bake in the preheated oven about 25 minutes, turning once. Place them under the broiler for a few minutes, watching closely, to finish browning them. Salt to taste and serve immediately. Serves 6.

Steam or microwave 4 cups of frozen cauliflower according to package directions. Over cook the cauliflower so it becomes mushy. Add sour cream, butter half & half, and salt & pepper to taste. Then blend in a food processor or blender. Garnish with bacon bits, cheese & chives, if desired.
