Last night, I went down to the brand new $275 million Hyatt Regency on Loyola avenue. Inside the new hotel is master chef John Besh's brand new restaurant Borgne.
Brian Landry, the former head chef at legendary Galatoire's is Borgne's head chef. Former Saints safety and special teams ace Steve Gleason was there hosting a fundraiser to help find a cure for ALS. Team Gleason hit another home run, not only by raising needed funds but by also bringing caring New Orleanians together.
It was a packed house as Gleason and his wife, with new baby in tow, were doing their usual thing, being positive. Being happy. And making us all realize how lucky we are.
A brand new, nearly $300 million hotel in downtown New Orleans. A John Besh restaurant. And Steve Gleason making everyone feel good.
New Orleans is an amazing city. Steve Gleason is an amazing person. And that was an amazing night. It's good to be a New Orleanian.
