(WGN-AM)- An infant girl was abducted on the West Side Saturday morning, and police are looking for a 17-year-old woman described as a family friend who lived with the family at one time.
Police were expected to issue an Amber Alert soon.
Massasoit Avenue about 10 a.m. Saturday, said Chicago Police News Officer Amina Greer. The name of the baby wasn't available.
The suspect also is known to frequent the area near Cicero and Chicago Avenues, Greer said.
Police said the child was fully clothed, wearing a red jacket, blue jeans shorts, and gym shoes and was wrapped in a pink blanket.
The woman has a tattoo of a rose on her back and reddish brown hair.
Area 5 detectives are investigating and, according to Greer, should be issuing an Amber Alert sometime this morning.
