(WGN-AM) - The Illinois State Police Narcotics and Currency Interdiction Unit arrested 11 people as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in Broadview and Maywood, authorities said.
In January, the Broadview and Maywood Police Departments started "Operation Broadview" to investigate the alleged sale of crack cocaine and other illegal drugs in the area of Lexington Avenue between 12th and 17th Streets, according to an Illinois State Police news release.
Narcotics and Currency Interdiction agents arrested the following people on one to three counts of felonies related to controlled substances:
--Archie Hardwick, 27, of the 1800 block of South 12th Avenue, Maywood.
--Lowell Borders, 33, of the 2000 block of South 12th Avenue, Maywood.
--Frederick Campbell, 28, of the 2100 block of South 9th Avenue, Maywood.
--Joseph Develakos, 44, of the 2000 block of South 12th Avenue, Maywood.
--Eddie Ridley, 28, of the 1800 block of South 17th Avenue, Maywood.
--Jazmine Smith, 18, of the 1800 block of South 12th Avenue, Maywood.
--Savaan Wilson, 24, of the 1800 block of South 16th Avenue, Broadview.
--Rachel Miller, 36, of the 200 block of South 12th Avenue, Maywood.
--Additional arrests made as a result of the operation included:
--James Lipsey Jr., 44, of the 2200 block of South 11th Avenue, Maywood.
--James Taylor III, 20, and James Taylor II, 36, both of the 1900 block of South 15th Avenue, Broadview. Police said Taylor III was arrested on a misdemeanor cannabis charge, and Taylor II had been wanted in Berwyn on a retail theft warrant.
