The Internet is changing the world. Social Media is now mainstream, and there are plenty of sites to choose from: MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Qik, just to name a few.

But if you're already signed up for one, why add another? Well, why not? is working for you, simplifying the latest social networking site that has grown to over six million users.

Behold: Twitter.

Twitter is simple. It's like texting the world. And it can be done from your computer or phone. You get out of it as much as you put in to it, and you can pick and choose who to follow and who follows you.

But what could you possibly say that people would be interested in? Pretty much anything, unless of course, you tweet when you wake up, you tweet when you potty, brush your teeth, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth again, get dressed etc.

Some of the most popular Twitterers are everyday people with clever, creative, or informative tweets:

Wayside Waifs said:

Celebrities have embraced Twitter too. It's like their own approved TMZ, where they offer a sneak peek into their lives:

Christopher Walken said:
I am now invited to a dog wedding. I don't have the words to make that stupider than it already sounds. They're registered at Whiskers.

Shaquille O'Neal said:
Attention all twitterers I'm a tweet at halftime and not get fined like vill a new wave a whteva his name is
Okay, so you're warming up to the idea of Twitter, but you're a super-busy soul who can hardly bear the thought of adding one more social site to the list of ones you already have. If that's you, there's good news. If you use Facebook, you can add this Twitter application, which links your tweets to your status. So when you update one, the other is too. Easy!

If you're on MySpace, there's a nifty little feature called Twittersync that allows users to sync their MySpace moods with Twitter.

Another time-saving website: HelloTxt, which allows users to update their status across multiple networks not exclusively related to Twitter.
