  11. Boys Athlete of the Week: Julian Woods, Century, indoor track

    The senior standout led the Century boys to their fourth straight Carroll County indoor track championship last Wednesday, winning three individual events and contributing to a victorious relay team. For a second straight year, Woods scored 40 points, winning the 55-meter dash (6.76), 55 hurdles (7.71), 300 dash (36.44), as well as running a leg on the victorious 800 relay in a time of 1 minute, 34.8 seconds. Century won the championship at Hagerstown Community College, defeating runner-up Liberty by a 177-78 margin. Last year, Woods won his second straight Class 2A state title in the 55 hurdles in the outdoor season to earn All-Metro first-team honors. He was an All-Metro second-team choice in the indoor season as a junior.
