Oh those wacky California folks, always doing "first state in the nation" kind of stuff. 21. "Happiest Baby On The Block" Movie in CT

When we are pregnant, well-intentioned friends and relatives pass along all sorts of baby books meant to guide us through issues such as breast feeding, sleeping and eating. I read a bunch of books that just didn't resonate with me...the advice didn't work for us...or, just didn't feel right. But, then, when my oldest was really little, I read "The Happiest Baby On The Block" by Harvey Karp, M.D. and, honestly, it became my go-to guide. Karp believes in the 5 "S's": swaddling, side, shushing, swinging and sucking. His simple advice really helped me get Sam on a routine...I still have the book because it meant so much to me.
