Children donated about 1,000 pounds of Halloween
candy they collected last month to soldiers overseas.
The effort was organized by YMCA
of the Foothills to encourage children to lead a healthy lifestyle. Three donors each won a new bicycle. The candy, collected by elementary school students, will be given to Operation Gratitude, which supports troops.
