Chicago Tribune critics Chris Jones and Nina Metz, entertainment editor Scott Powers, and reporter Mark Caro recap the Playground Theater production of 'The TomKat Project.' Recorded live from the Chicago Tribune newsroom on March 19, 2013.
"The Tomkat Project" has announced an extension through May 29, and could go further.
The comedy about the three-way relationship between Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Scientology has been selling out houses every Wednesday at the the Playground Theater, where it was initially slated through April 24. The Tribune's Nina Metz gave the show four stars in her March 15 review in "On the Fringe." "Seriously funny but never a joke, (Brandon) Ogborn's script digs into the business of celebrity myth-making with an almost academic zeal," she wrote.
According to Ogborn, the fringe hit potentially could play into the summer.
