Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Vogl, both natives of Munich, Germany, opened Ludwig’s Gourmet Shop at 506 Foothill Blvd. The store featured prime meats, sausages, cold cuts, imported and domestic cheeses, European bakery items and homemade salads.

An Encinas Drive man reported that his car, which had been parked in his locked garage overnight, was not there when he went to use it the next morning. He called authorities and the car was found, still in good condition, just a few blocks away. On the front seat there was a note that read, “Thank you very much!”
