Broadneck High School graduate Matthew Centrowitz won the 1,500-meter run at the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene Oregon on Saturday.
Centrowitz, 26, finished fourth in the 2012 London Olympic Games in the event and is gearing up for a run at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
Centrowitz had one goal entering the 1,500 final - dominate. He did, too, finishing in 3:37.25 to win by more than a second. "Going into the home stretch, I wanted the race to be won already," Centrowitz said. "Think I did that."
