Varsity roundup: Edgewood boys, N. Harford girls win UCBAC cross country titles

Edgewood won its first cross country title in 44 years Thursday, capturing the boys championship in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference meet in Bel Air. North Harford won the girls title, its second in the past three years. The two teams prevailed in close scoring on a 2.9-mile course in Tollgate Park. Races for the individual titles were  not close, however. C. Milton Wright freshman Jessica Rogers won the girls race by 12 seconds in 19 minutes, 43 seconds. North Harford senior Nick Fransham opened a 42-second lead on Bohemia Manor's Ty Franks in winning his third UCBAC title in 15:24.
