Harford well represented at Baltimore Running Festival Saturday

Six-hundred Harford County runners were part of the record field of 27,000 in the Baltimore Running Festival Saturday. Several of them captured age-group awards in the half-marathon, marathon and 5K.

Esther Buchser of Abingdon finished first in the women's 60-to-64 age group in the Care First Half Marathon. The 64-year-old French teacher raced over the 13.1-mile course in 1:58:53 to win by almost 2 minutes. She was one of 475 Harford Countians in the half-marathon field of 10,230.

Sergio Flores of Abingdon was first among the Harford finishers in the 13.1-miler. He placed 13th overall in 1:18:06 and was fourth in the 25-29 age group. Lindsay Lippencott took first among Harford...
