To put his career in perspective, only one other driver (Darrell Waltrip) has won more races (84) in NASCAR¿s modern era (1972-present). And Gordon is well within striking distance of the NASCAR record of seven season championships, a mark shared by the sport¿s most revered names, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
A driver for Hendrick Motorsports since his Winston Cup debut in 1994, Gordon has also left his mark as co-car owner and mentor to Hendrick teammate Jimmie Johnson, the 2006 and 2007 Nextel Cup champion. In 2008, he¿ll drive the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports.

It's not often you see somebody trying to implode his championship aspirations with a stick of dynamite and a bottle of tequila in tow. But that's the image Carl Edwards is cultivating. Patrick still has a lot to prove
When it comes to polarizing athletes, Danica Patrick is probably ranked with Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow in a category all their own.
