Former Broadneck star Matthew Centrowitz won the prestigious Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games on Saturday night, finishing in a time of 3 minutes, 53.92 seconds to break the New York City Armory record.
Centrowitz was followed by Americans Miles Batty (3:54.54) and Garrett Heath (3:55.24).
The previous Armory record of 3:54.98 was set by Ireland's Mark Carroll in 2000. The Millrose Games were moved to the Armory this year after previously being staged at Madison Square Garden.
