Loyola Maryland men's lacrosse wins Patriot League title, will host conference tournament

Thanks to junior midfielder Jay Drapeau’s career-high six points on four goals and two assists and sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Stover’s 12 saves, Loyola Maryland upset No. 12 Army, 14-6, on Friday night in West Point, N.Y., to capture the Patriot League’s regular-season championship for the second time in four years and play host to the tournament’s semifinals and final on April 28 and 30, respectively, at Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore.

Although the Greyhounds (8-5 overall) and the Black Knights (10-3) finished with identical 6-2 records in the conference, Loyola earned the title and top seed and home-field advantage in the tourney via the head-to-head tiebreaker. The...
