Head coach Dave Cottle said the Chesapeake Bayhawks needed to survive the early season when they were without 10 key players. He said there could be no repeat of 2014 when the Bayhawks started 1-4 while short-handed due to conflicts with the indoor professional season and collegiate lacrosse. Chesapeake's replacements performed admirably in the season opener on Sunday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Several returning veterans did their part as well.
