Jan. 7, 2001: The Ravens upset the Tennessee Titans, 24-10, in Nashville to advance to the AFC title game. Rookie Anthony Mitchell races 90 yards with a blocked field-goal attempt for the winning score in the fourth quarter.

Jan. 7, 1969: Sparks fly in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 100-93 NBA win over the Bullets before an announced 8,163 at the Civic Center. Baltimore is assessed six technical fouls in a rowdy game in which three Bullets (Jack Marin, Bob Ferry and Kevin Loughery), trainer Skip Feldman and three fans are ejected. The crowd answers by throwing chocolate bars and pennies onto the court.
