Penguins pick up Lovejoy for Despres, send Bortuzzo to Blues for Cole

The Penguins acquired two defensemen in exchange for two others before the NHL trade deadline Monday afternoon. They picked up Ben Lovejoy, a former Penguin, from Anaheim for Simon Despres and added Ian Cole from St. Louis for Robert Bortuzzo. Lovejoy, 31, is 6 feet 2, 205 pounds and signed with the Penguins as a free agent in 2008. He was traded to the Ducks in 2013. Cole, 26, is 6 feet 1, 219 pounds and had four goals and five assists in 54 games with the Blues this season. He has a physical facet to his game and is considered to have shutdown ability, but has shown limited offensive ability.
