Niemi, Sharks blank Preds 2-0

SAN JOSE, Calif. The San Jose Sharks' power play wasn't terribly crisp Thursday night against the Nashville Predators. But considering the way Antti Niemi is playing right now, it didn't really need to be that spectacular. Niemi was exceptional for the second straight game, making 35 saves to lead the Sharks to a 2-0 win over the Predators before an announced sellout crowd of 17,562 at SAP Center. Tomas Hertl scored on the power play in the second period, and Tommy Wingels added an empty-net goal with 58.8 seconds left in the third period as the Sharks won for the fourth time in five games.
