The Washington Capitals have signed forward Tom Wilson, the 16th overall selection of last month's NHL Draft, to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced today. Wilson will make $832,500 at the NHL level and $70,000 at the AHL level. Last season with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, Wilson totaled 27 points in 49 games. In 13 playoff games, he scored 13 points. The Capitals said in a statement that they expect Wilson to continue his development this season with Plymouth once again. Wilson is the second of the Capitals' two first-round picks to sign. Last week, 11th-overall selection Filip Forsberg signed with Washington.
