STX launches new ice hockey stick

Baltimore-based sporting goods manufacturer STX, which expanded into ice hockey last year, said today it has launched a new stick to be sold in stores after being used by a pair of NHL players during the regular season.

STX said the "Surgeon Rx" has a light design and the blade has "a softer face for more responsive control on the ice."

Brandon Pirri of the Florida Panthers and Jiri Hudler of the Calgary Flames started using the stick in the second half of the season, the company said.
