The New York Islanders took Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round matchup against the Florida Panthers with a 2-1 double-overtime victory Friday night to take a 3-2 lead in the series.
New York center Alan Quine’s first goal of the series was the sudden-death winner at 16:00 of the second overtime period on the power play. But, Isles goaltender Thomas Greiss shared the spotlight, stopping 47 Panthers shots on goal, several point blank.
“He’s playing great hockey,” said Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell. “We’ve got to find a way of not hitting him as much, obviously.”
