Mistakes cost Canes in 2-1 loss to Devils as home stand ends

RALEIGH, N.C. The mistakes continue for the Carolina Hurricanes. So do the losses. The Canes, in the final game of a disappointing homestand, were beaten 2-1 on Monday by the New Jersey Devils before a crowd of 9,815 at PNC Arena. Ageless Jaromir Jagr, playing his 1,500th career game, had a goal and an assist for the Devils, who had lost six of their last seven games. Goalie Cory Schneider, playing his 27th game of the season, turned back 39 shots for the Devils, who had several players out with injuries or sickness. The Hurricanes (8-16-3), who lost their third in a row, edged in front 1-0 in the second period as defenseman Justin Faulk blasted a shot from the slot for his fourth goal...
