Here's the thing about DeAndre Diggs' future in golf: Three years ago, he didn't have one.
The Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation's 2016 $100,000 scholarship winner, set to enroll in UMES' PGA Golf Management program this fall, didn't know how to manage a flagstick as a freshman at Archbishop Curley, much less break 100 over 18 holes.
His problems were fundamental. He hadn't played golf since he was 8, and when he decided to try out for the Friars that year, he didn't have clubs. His mother mentioned the First Tee of Baltimore.
He entered the sport knowing little. He will leave having gained so much.
