There was something different about the 2013 Maryland high school football state championships. For the first time since 2009, Howard County did not have a team at M&T Bank Stadium competing for a state title. It was a disappointing finish for Howard football fans, players and coaches, but 2014 brings new opportunities, and hopes are high for a better ending in early December.
