Feb. 12, 1991: The Orioles sign first baseman Glenn Davis, acquired in the offseason from the Houston Astros, to a club-record one-year deal worth $3.275 million. Davis, who cost the club three future All-Stars (Steve Finley, Curt Schilling and Pete Harnisch), hits .247 with 24 homers in three injury-marred seasons and never again plays in the major leagues.

Feb. 15, 1982: Hollywood Henderson, a 3-year-old colt named for the flamboyant NFL player, wins the $85,350 Bowie Stakes, his second straight victory at Bowie Race Course.
