Ravens deactivate cornerback Shareece Wright (back spasms)

According to the Ravens, back spasms – not recent struggles – contributed to starting cornerback Shareece Wright being deactivated for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins at M&T Bank Stadium.

When word of Wright’s inactive status circulated Sunday morning, the initial thinking was that he had been benched. Although he did rank third on the defense in tackles with 21, Wright gave up five touchdowns in his last three games including two Derek Carr-to-Michael Crabtree scores in the 28-27 loss to the Oakland Raiders a week ago.
