Cornerback Daryl Worley, the Philadelphia native acquired by his hometown Eagles in a recent trade with the Carolina Panthers, will never get to play for the Eagles after all.
Worley was released by the team this afternoon, hours after being arrested in a confrontation with Philadelphia police that resulted in his arrest.
Worley grew combative and had to be shocked with a stun gun before being taken into custody, police said. A gun also was recovered at the scene in which Worley was passed out in a vehicle that was blocking traffic near the intersection of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, adjacent to the team’s practice facility, police said.
