The Ravens don’t have an obvious need for a defensive lineman, but that didn’t stop them from taking a look at a player that they’ve long respected.

Nose tackle Phil Taylor, a first-round pick in 2011 by the Cleveland Browns, worked out for the team on Tuesday. He wasn’t immediately signed.

The workout was first reported by ESPN.

Taylor, a run stuffer who is 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds, played with the Browns from 2011 to 2014, starting 42 games during that span. He played just five games last year after having knee surgery. The Browns then cut him before the start of this season.
