I clicked onto the Ravens website this morning and saw “Flacco vs. Big Ben” splashed across my screen. With the NFL draft now behind us and not much going on in the next couple of months, it looks like we are now in the compare-and-...

  9. Ravens news, notes and opinions

As you probably know by now, the NFL will release its regular season schedule tonight at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network. You most certainly know by now that the Ravens will open up on the road on Sept. 5 after they failed to work out a scheduling conflict with the Orioles for that night. Their opponent for the opener has not been announced but I think it would be a huge surprise to everybody at the Ravens’ facility if it’s not the Denver Broncos. Maybe, it was just a coincidence but the Ravens’ Torrey Smith and the Broncos’ Von Miller were even the live guests on a scheduling show last night on NFL Network. It just makes too much sense – Peyton Manning versus Joe Flacco, rematch of last season’s thrilling double-overtime divisional playoff game, Elvis Dumervil faces his old team, Wes Welker debuts for his new one.

  11. Ravens' 2013 schedule starts in Denver, includes home Thanksgiving game against Pittsburgh

The Ravens won’t get their season-opening home game, like reigning Super Bowl champions have for the last decade. But they will play four prime-time games, including a Thanksgiving night showdown at home against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, and a much-anticipated rematch with the Denver Broncos to kick off their Super Bowl XLVII title defense.

  17. The most Ed Reed-est plays in Ed Reed history

The Ed Reed era is officially over in Baltimore, though the safety will always be considered one of the greatest Ravens players of all-time -- and arguably the most entertaining, as my colleague Childs Walker wrote today.

  19. Why is Baltimore standing by while the Ravens turn into the Florida Marlins of football?

What is wrong with this town? I know there are tons of people out there in Baltimore who are as angry at what just happened to our Super Bowl team as I am, but where is their voice?

  21. Is the read-option really just 'the flavor of the day?'

You know how you wake up on Sunday morning and enjoy the challenge of trying to complete the crossword puzzle or the Sudoku in the newspaper?
