Patterson Mill senior pitcher Austin Koehn flirted with a no-hitter Wednesday, but settled for a two-hit, 6-0, shutout of visiting Bel Air in an UCBAC Chesapeake Division game.
The Huskies (4-1, 7-1) scored in four-of-six at bats, while Koehn was shutting down the Bobcats, retiring the first eight batters in order. He finished the 90-pitch outing with a walk, hit batter and nine strikeouts.
It was Koehn, too, who got the Huskies on the scoreboard in the first inning. Leadoff man Max Elliott drew a walk and with him running on the pitch, Koehn delivered a RBI double to the gap in left-center field.
